5-Minute Juicy Poached Chicken Breast

Method
Pat the chicken breast dry with paper towels, then season generously on all sides with salt, black pepper, and your preferred spices.
Wrap each chicken breast tightly in two layers of aluminum foil, twisting both ends to create a sealed "candy-shaped" packet. Make sure the foil is tightly closed to keep the juices inside during cooking.
Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil. Carefully place the foil-wrapped chicken into the boiling water, ensuring it is fully submerged.
Boil the chicken for exactly 5 minutes. Do not extend the cooking time.
Turn off the heat immediately, cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid, and leave the chicken undisturbed in the hot water for 2 hours. The residual heat gently finishes cooking the chicken, keeping it exceptionally tender and juicy.
Carefully remove the foil packets, unwrap the chicken, and slice before serving. Enjoy warm or chilled in salads, sandwiches, wraps, grain bowls, or as a high-protein snack.
This gentle cooking method produces incredibly moist chicken without drying it out. For food safety, use this technique only with fully thawed chicken breasts of average thickness (about 2–3 cm/¾–1¼ inches). The cooked chicken can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 4 days, making it perfect for meal prep.
