Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) or your air fryer to 180°C (350°F).

  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, Skyr, eggs, chopped green onions, garlic powder, smoked paprika (if using), salt, and black pepper.

  3. Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are evenly incorporated, then fold in half of the grated reduced-fat cheese.

  4. Transfer the mixture to a lightly greased small baking dish or oven-safe ramekin, smoothing the top with a spoon.

  5. Sprinkle the remaining grated cheese evenly over the surface.

  6. Oven: Bake for 25 minutes, or until the casserole is fully set and the cheese is golden brown.

  7. Air Fryer: Cook for approximately 20 minutes at 180°C (350°F) until lightly browned and cooked through.

  8. Allow the bake to rest for 3–5 minutes before serving.

  9. Garnish with fresh herbs and a squeeze of lemon juice. Serve with sliced cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, or a crisp green salad for a fresh, balanced meal.

Chef's Tip

Because this casserole is naturally very high in protein and low in carbohydrates, it makes an excellent post-workout meal or light dinner. For additional flavor, stir in chopped spinach, capers, or fresh dill before baking. A dash of Dijon mustard also pairs wonderfully with the tuna.
