Classic Hummus

Method
Prepare the chickpeas: If using canned chickpeas, rinse and drain them thoroughly. For a creamier texture, peel the chickpeas by gently pinching off the skins.
Blend the base: In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, and garlic. Blend on high until the mixture is thick and slightly coarse.
Adjust the consistency: Gradually add olive oil while blending, and if needed, add a tablespoon of water at a time until the hummus reaches your desired smoothness. Season with salt to taste.
Serve: Transfer to a serving bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and garnish with paprika or chopped parsley.
Chef's Tip
Serve with carrot sticks, cucumber slices, or warm pita bread for dipping.
