Method

  1. Place the cottage cheese in a medium mixing bowl. For a smoother texture, blend it briefly with an immersion blender; for a rustic spread, leave the curds intact.

  2. Add the Skyr and stir until well combined.

  3. Mix in the smoked paprika, minced garlic, green onions, salt, and freshly ground black pepper.

  4. Stir thoroughly until the ingredients are evenly distributed and the spread becomes creamy.

  5. Taste and adjust the seasoning with additional smoked paprika, salt, or pepper if desired.

  6. Cover and refrigerate for 5–10 minutes to allow the garlic and smoked paprika to fully infuse the spread.

  7. Serve chilled on whole-grain crispbread, wraps, baked potatoes, grilled chicken, roasted vegetables, or as a protein-rich dip for fresh vegetables.

Chef's Tip

For an even deeper smoky flavor, garnish the spread with an extra sprinkle of smoked paprika and a few chopped chives just before serving. If you prefer a whipped texture, blend all the ingredients together for 30 seconds until light and airy.
